Celebrating Fiji Independence Day at Arcare Slacks Creek

Over the weekend, clients and team members at our Arcare Slacks Creek community celebrated Fiji’s Independence Day.

Fiji’s Independence Day celebrates the anniversary of Fiji’s independence from British colonial rule in 1970.

So, for Fiji Day, team members in our Kensingston community decided to show their support by wearing their tropical sarongs around the residence.

Dressed in bright green, red and yellow, their colourful clothing brought a smile to the faces of the clients, families who were visiting and other team members.

‘I’m glad we were able to make others smile and to also celebrate our own culture at Arcare Slacks Creek,’ a team member commented.

It is wonderful to be able to celebrate Fiji Day and to celebrate the cultural diversity, both in Fiji and in Australia.

Clients and team members look forward to celebrating national days from all around the world.
