Christmas at Keysborough

There was something for everyone to enjoy during December, with a variety of festive events and activities on offer for the Keysborough Community.

The festivities kicked off with a talented pianist performing all of the Christmas classics.

It wasn’t long after that the community held an official decorating day where clients, team members, families and volunteers used their creativity to expertly decorate the entire building. The next morning was a surprise as the night team added to the beautiful display.

The carols afternoon was a hit, and the community discovered that many among them had hidden musical talents.

A series of Christmas picnic trips was also enjoyed as groups headed to scenic spots like the Wilson Botanical Gardens and Myuna Farm.

The cooking afternoon was a great success, and the delicious shortbread that the group baked made for the perfect Christmas gift.

The men’s festive hat group also proved a hit. Kevin had the difficult task of choosing the winner of the best hat. A hard choice as there were many festive fedoras decorated with baubles and bright colours.

The resounding highlight for the community was when Elvis, The King, came to perform at a carols evening. Around 140 guests joined in the festivities and enjoyed singing along with some of the classics.

On another evening in the lead up to Christmas, Chrisanthi and her husband performed some more carols favourites – after all, Christmas only comes around once a year!
Over some delicious cocktails, the community came up with their own elf names including Merry Twinkle Toes ,Tootsie SugarSocks, Twinkle Jolly Toes and Angelic PeppermintBuns. This had everyone roaring with laughter, and many kept these names right up until Christmas day.
