An afternoon tea at the Salvation Army had the Hillside Community inspired to give back to their community this Christmas.
The Salvation Army were collecting Christmas gift boxes to send out to orphanages around the world. The Hillside Community was so inspired by this act of kindness that they decided to do their own boxes.
Clients, families, team members and volunteers donated money which went towards buying the gifts. After a shopping trip to gather everything, the community sat down to put the boxes together.
Each box had a label on it stating the gender and age of the person that the gift was for, and, after days of decorating and perfecting the gifts, the Hillside Community invited the Salvation Army in to hand them over.
Everyone was so proud to have been involved in the wonderful project and love the thought of knowing 25 children will receive the special presents on Christmas day.
David said that he wished he could be there to see their smiles on the day.
