Colourful cards for Mother’s Day at Maroochydore

This Mother’s Day was very different for many of the clients at Arcare Maroochydore.

With clients missing the company of daughters, friends and family members, the Lifestyle team decided to bring in a little colour and fun.

In two different sessions, we gathered together in the Boronia activity room for some social distancing craft where we created something special for families and friends on the outside.

As the clients entered the room, some of them were curious to know what they would be doing today, in reply Lifestyle Assistant Lisa said, ‘We’ll be making some Mother’s Day cards and probably also making a big mess. Because the more mess you make, the more fun you’ll have!’

Using colourful card stock, flowers, patterned paper, stickers, glue, glitter and a bit of their imagination, the clients certainly made a mess while enjoying the activity!

They crafted some lovely cards to give to all the mothers they know and Winifred Boyd, one of the clients from the Wattle community was particularly efficient.

She managed to create three cards in one session!

Everyone that came to the card-making activity enjoyed keeping their hands and minds busy and we look forward to the next craft activity where we can make a mess together again!
