A dreary, wet May afternoon didn’t stop the gardening group in the Epping Community from getting on the tools.
Not everyone you’ll speak to is thrilled when it starts to rain but the die-hard gardeners in the community have been thankful for the garden’s refresh.
While most were keeping dry and warm indoors, the gardening group was pruning, sweeping and tending to the luscious garden.
Their hard work and dedication has paid off as the courtyard is looking in pristine condition and is a much-loved spot to sit and relax in the community.
The Epping Community has been staying toasty and warm thanks to the knitted goods they were kindly gifted from the Epping RSL Poppy Ladies Group.
The generous donation included handmade beanies, scarves, mittens, slippers and shawls.
Mary was delighted to be given her rainbow-coloured shawl and pink slippers, and has been keeping them in close range due to the recent cold snap.
She personally reached out to the RSL group to thank them for their generosity.
She commented, ‘It’s lovely and warm. I can’t wait to show my daughter on the weekend.’
The winter warmers have been fantastic for the walking group who regularly brave the cold to get some fresh air and take a stroll around the neighbourhood.
It was particularly useful for the community’s DIY Memory Walk recently. Clients, team members, families and friends took to the Epping streets to walk and raise money for Dementia Australia.
Thank you to the Poppy Ladies Group for their thoughtfulness.
