The click clacking of knitting needles at Arcare Knox in Wantirna South can only mean one thing – the knitting group is undertaking another important project. The residents’ most recent task has been knitting pouches for Wildlife Victoria.
As Arcare Knox is located close to the bottom of the Mount Dandenong Ranges, there are lots of wildlife in the area who, due to a variety of reasons, need pouches to keep them safe and warm. The knitted pouches are suitable for possums, joeys, wombats and birds.
A high tea was put on to help the hardworking group to keep refreshed while creating the pouches. The knitting group hopes to support many other groups in the community through more projects in the future.
