Shirley was in her element when Mary Doumany, renowned composer, harpist and singer performed for the Arcare Helensvale St James Community.
As a classical pianist, Shirley used to run a weekly column in the Sydney Herald about music. It was a thrill to have Mary perform, as Shirley sung along to some of her favourite pieces.
Mary lives in Melbourne and the Helensvale St James Community were fortunate to have her perform while on a visit to the Gold Coast. Her talented performance combined genres of jazz, contemporary and folk.
Ena commented on how beautiful it was to listen to a harp, taking her back to her school days when the College String Ensemble would perform similar music.
