Ideas man Reg came up with a great plan to form an Arcare Hope Island bowling team. A group of eight keen bowlers set off to Ashmore Ten Pin Bowling to try their hand at the game.
Reg was the only experienced bowler among the group which made things a little more interesting. He was an avid bowler in Rooty Hill for over 30 years, with an average score of 150. He even wore his Rooty Hill bowling shirt to bring good luck.
He had some rivalry on the day however as John, who had never bowled before, managed to score three strikes in one game. ‘What a hoot’ said John.
In the end they were all trumped by Valerie, who used her past skills in lawn bowls and adapted them to her advantage, winning the entire game.
The bowling group is now planning for their next bowing session, as they will be playing against Arcare St James.
