Night at the National Theatre

by Elizabeth Clydesdale

Having recently moved to Arcare Caulfield, I am now closer to two of my three daughters. It has become easier for them to pick me up and take me to live theatre and my grandchildren’s activities.

Recently, my daughter and her husband decided to have dinner here as they had driven from Kyabram. They enjoyed a three course meal at my table with the other residents.

A few weeks ago I was taken to the National Theatre where my granddaughter Bridget performed in ‘The Man Who Came To Dinner’. The play was performed by 12 students in their final year of drama school, and a few from second year. It was all very professional and the acting of all characters was very well done.

It was my first time at the National Theatre and I was stunned by the majestic feeling when entering the foyer. It’s a very old theatre but they have arranged for a lift and a chair to assist those who can’t walk as easily.

The staircase in the background of this photo is a great setting!
