Painting soothes the soul at Arcare Helensvale

As clients at Arcare Helensvale were getting out of bed and getting ready for an eventful day, the smell of fresh acrylic paint and the excitement of wet paintbrushes and crisp painting paper awaited them in the Ellie unit.

We have an excellent instructor named Jan who is patient in explaining her techniques and skilled at transforming blank canvases to works of art.

One of her techniques included using a big, long brush, lightly brushing it into a dollop of paint and then gently sweeping it across the paper to get white, fluffy realistic clouds.

Whether you are a beginner or an expert at painting, we encourage everyone from any level to join our painting group!

This activity encourages the clients to make new friends and learn new skills!

It is always a great time for them to learn something different and push the boundaries.

During the painting class, you could obviously see the amount of concentration and dedication the clients put into painting their landscape scenes.

We believe painting is always a good way to start the day and the perfect remedy to relax and express their creativity.

And the most important part was knowing that everyone’s painting ended up looking very different and unique!
