21 June 2019
With over 70 clients at Arcare Helensvale, we recognise the individual accomplishments and milestones all our clients have achieved.
So on this very special day, we want to show our respect, gratitude and support for Jack Eaves – a Doomsday veteran.
On June 6, 2019, the British High Commission invited Jack Eaves as an honorary guest on the anniversary of the D-day Landing.
Jack, a man of 94 years served in the military as a D-day veteran.
He was flown down from the Gold Coast along with his son Ken, to attend such an important event held at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.
In attendance was High Commissioner Vicky M. Treadell, Governor General of Australia Sir Peter Cosgrove, an array of high-ranking military personal and cadets all from different sections like the Navy, Army and the Air-Force to name a few.
Guests numbered about 100 and enjoyed drinks and canapes followed by speeches where they all shared memories and stories. It was wonderful for Ken to see the respect and consideration for his dad’s achievements.
The whole day left a lasting impression on Jack, something that will be remembered by him and his family for many many years to come.
