On Sunday 14th June, Arcare Malvern East client, Roselina celebrated her 95th birthday, surrounded by the Malvern East team and community.
Roselina had a difficult start to life, with her and her family facing and living through the persecution of the Jewish people during World War II. Roselina and her family were able to stay hidden for much of WWII, as a priest and group of nuns offered to safeguard the family. Roselina and her family survived the war, later moving to Australia, and with Roselina later marrying the boy next door, Louis, who also survived the war.
Despite having a tremendously difficult start to life, Roselina always manages to have a smile on her face.
In 2015, Roselina moved into the Arcare Malvern East community, where she has enjoyed forming close relationships with the team and her peers, as well regularly attending the various lifestyle programs that are on offer.
Recently Roselina has been quite technologically savvy, learning and mastering how to use her mobile phone and iPad to keep in touch and keep herself entertained.
Malvern East lifestyle coordinator, Tina can’t speak anymore highly of Roselina’s character saying, “Roselina is never one to be away from others or activities; she is always keen to be involved. Roselina is one of the wonderful threads, which make the Arcare Malvern East the closeknit and happy community that it is. She is a true treasure.”
The Arcare Malvern East community would like to wish Roselina a very Happy 95th Birthday and many Happy Returns.
