New to the Arcare Caulfield music scene, but familiar to the venue, musician David Krycer used to play weddings and Bar and Bat Mitzvahs when the residence was a ballroom back in the 90s.
Much more modern, the residence had transformed since he had last visited the space.
Clients sang and clapped along with David as he sang and strummed out some chords on the ukulele and guitar.
David told his father Sam, who is 100 years old this January, that he would be performing at Arcare Caulfield. Sam was excited to announce that his old armed services pal Gunner Lewis was a resident there and to send his regards.
David caught up with Gunner after the concert and the two bonded over a mutual admiration for David’s father.
Gunner and Sam are both members of VAJEX (Victorian Association Of Jewish Ex Service Men & Woman) and have attended many memorial services together. Gunner said there weren’t many of them left over the age of 90.
