A special concert for Maureen at Arcare Taigum

Since moving in to Arcare Taigum in 2019, Maureen has had very regular visits from her good friend Margaret.

Upon chatting about their friendship, we found out that Maureen and Margaret have been friends for over 56 years!

During one of their regular visits in the residence café where they reminisce and chat, Margaret decided that she wanted to do something for her friend.

She was going to organise a special concert for Maureen, along with her band called the ‘The Misfits’.

In the band, Margaret is the lead singer, Merle plays the keyboard and there is even a harmonica and ukulele musician who also does backup vocals.

Other clients from Arcare Taigum were also invited to the exclusive concert, with the band performing old favourites such as ‘White Cliffs of Dover’.

The clients were happily singing along to Irish songs like ‘Peggy Gordon’, which was very timely as it got us all in the mood for St Patrick’s Day.

Maureen had a front row seat to her best friend’s concert for her and in between songs, Margaret would sit next to her, holding her hand sweetly.

From all of us at Arcare Taigum, we want to say a big thank you to ‘The Misfits’ for coming down and putting on such a great concert for the clients.

Everyone certainly enjoyed it, especially Maureen!

It is wonderful to see their friendship grow stronger and to have Margaret and the band bringing smiles to everyone’s faces.
