Keysborough celebrates Sri Lankan New Year

Happy Sinhala and Tamil New Year!

A much awaited time of the year in Sri Lanka, the “Aluth Avurudda or Puthandu” is celebrated in many households as the sun moves from Pisces to Aries marking the end of the harvest season.

When Arcare Keysborough first opened its doors in 2015, the community’s build and lifestyle was created with the Sri Lankan community and the local multicultural community in mind. The lush tropical gardens, resort style design and relaxed atmosphere of Arcare Keysborough make the residence feel like an oasis.

The Arcare Keysborough community prides itself on not only providing 5-star care, living, food and lifestyle activities to its residents, but the team also prides themselves on their consistent and ongoing commitment to supporting a range of cultural backgrounds and religions.

Throughout the month of April, Arcare Keysborough’s lifestyle team in collaboration with nurses and personal care workers organised a variety of vibrant cultural activities and events to celebrate Sri Lankan New Year. Throughout April, the community was filled with traditional dancing, decorations, traditional dress, feasts and live music performances.

We may not be able to travel far at the moment, but Arcare Keysborough sure knows how to create a gorgeous atmosphere!
