Supporting Daffodil Day

The Sydenham Community was busy throughout the month of August, creating handmade daffodils to support Daffodil Day and the Cancer Council.

With some extra pairs of hands from team members and volunteers, the group made an impressive 100 daffodils to sell.

The group also potted real daffodils to decorate the café with.

Eileen said, ‘I enjoyed making this flower because I know that it is for a good cause and I know I have done something worth my while.’

Michelina said, ‘Being part of this group made me feel that I am not just doing what I love but also I am helping the world to have a cancer-free future.’

Well done to all who contributed to this important cause.

Sydenham competes for gold

The Sydenham Community had been looking forward to competing in the annual Arcare olympics alongside Maidstone, Burnside, Epping, Craigieburn and Hillside.

The annual event is a highlight on the calendar and there is always competitiveness between teams.

The olympics is a great chance for clients from different residences to get-together.

While they didn’t walk away as the winners, there was still plenty of smiles on the bus home.
