Touching gift of knitted blankets at Arcare North Shore

Arcare North Shore had a surprising visit yesterday from a lovely couple who have dedicated their time to crochet blankets of all sizes and colours for the aged community.

They decided to help our clients with this year’s blankets and throw rugs as they have never been to Arcare North Shore for a visit before.

We were amazed to Wilma’s talent with the blankets and simply could not believe the amount of work that went into her tailored shawls with hanky holders crochet onto the bottom.

We gave some of our ladies their own blanket for their knees as it gets a little chilly at the moment coming to activities in their wheelchairs.

Gail had tears in her eyes as Wilma presented her with her very own lap rug of many colours.

“You’ve touched my heart,” she said. “I can’t believe there is such kindness in the world”.

We feel very fortunate that Wilma had thought of our Arcare family though this winter and we certainly welcome her kindness any time.
