Edna, a resident from Arcare North Lakes, and her granddaughter Julie have a very special bond. Julie was a boarder at a Brisbane school and would stay with Edna during school holidays as her parents lived in Papua New Guinea.
Their special relationship grew as a result and so when it was time for Julie to get married, she didn’t want her grandmother to miss out. How? She decided to get married in Arcare North Lake’s very own chapel so that Edna could have a front row seat!
She was very excited leading up to the big day. She had her hair and makeup done and wore pink to match the wedding party. Edna said ‘It was a lovely service and Julie looked beautiful. I was so happy to be a part of it.’
