As part of the Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea event at Arcare North Shore, the team came with up a very sweet-tasting idea to get people involved.
After much discussion, the Lifestyle team and Therese the chef developed a very creative and interesting way to raise more money.
Their idea was to bake a daffodil-themed cake that not only looked good but was delicious as well.
The cake would then be part of a raffle competition where clients, team members, friends and family can go into the draw to win this amazing cake!
It was a hard challenge indeed but Therese confidently accepted and surpassed the challenge as she and her team have created a masterpiece.
Besides having a very sweet cake to entice the public with, the Lifestyle team also organised dozens of donuts to be purchased on the day itself.
And by purchasing a dozen donuts, the buyer would automatically go into the raffle ticket draw.
At 5 pm, it was finally time as the last dozen donuts were sold and the last ticket was put in the box.
The young man that purchased the last donuts was given the job of drawing the raffle.
The lucky black ticket number 54 was drawn!
And the lucky winner was Libby.
We called Libby just after the draw and she was overjoyed to hear she won the cake!
She came in after lunch on the Friday where Therese our chef personally presented her with the winning cake.
Getting everybody involved in the raffle ticket draw was very fun and exciting as there was a lot of anticipation as to who would be the winner.
The clients simply loved watching everyone get excited as they put their ticket in the raffle box, hoping they would win.
