Arcare Brighton – Wine & cheese afternoon
This week, clients from the Arcare Brighton community kicked back and indulged in a delicious cheese and wine afternoon.
Clients chatted amongst themselves as they sampled a variety of local cheeses, biscuits, dips and complimentary wines.
Arcare Caulfield – Community sends their love
On Tuesday 28th April, the Arcare Caulfield community received a pleasant surprise in the mail.
Students from schools around the community had drawn pictures and written letters to the team at Arcare Caulfield, thanking them all for their hard-work during the COVID-19 global pandemic.
The team at Arcare Caulfield couldn’t have been more appreciative to receive the thoughtful letters, with many saying that it’s nice to know that the wider community are recognising their hard-work and the value of their work.
Arcare Caulfield – Team member talent
On Sunday 3rd May, Arcare Caulfield carer, Lawrence put on a spectacular performance for the entire community.
The community enjoyed sitting back and watching as Lawrence shared his beautiful voice and guitar and harmonica playing skills during his performance.
Lawrence even stayed back after his shift, to give the clients a highly anticipated and demanded encore performance.
Arcare Keysborough – Hawaiian Day
On Friday 1st May, the Arcare Keysborough community transformed into a Hawaiian paradise for the day.
Team members and clients dressed in bright colours, coconuts and leis to celebrate the community’s Hawaiian Lei Day.
For Happy Hour, the lifestyle team loaded up their mobile trolley with sweet treats, drinks and music and started travelling around the residence to spread the cheer and Hawaiian joy.
The soothing music from the Beach Boys reached the far and wide corners of the residence and even inspired a small dance party; with Hawaiian hula moves being shown off.
Arcare Malvern East – Community kindness
An amazing, new sense of community has emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic. People who have never spoken to one another are suddenly reaching and connecting with one another; as we all realise just how valuable communication and a greater sense of connection is.
The Arcare Malvern East community received a pleasant surprise when artwork from local children arrived residence.
Children from the neighbouring streets had hand-drawn and written to help boost the moods of all the clients in the Malvern East community. One heartfelt message read, ‘Some rainbows and butterflies to put smiles on everyones faces and to say we are thinking of you!’
The clients at Arcare Malvern East couldn’t believe the kindness and thoughtfulness demonstrated by the young children in the community.
Arcare Malvern East – Fancy dress parade
On Friday 1st May, Arcare Malvern East team member, Jocelyn hosted another Fancy Dress Fashion Parade.
To ensure that everyone was social distancing during the event, only Hilton community clients were invited to watch the parade.
Team members put in a great deal of their own time, working out the lighting, music and seating, to ensure that they put on a 5-star performance for the community
Team members strutted their stuff on the Hilton lounge room catwalk, wearing a range of cultural garments and wacky costumes. Some of the highlights included lifestyle coordinator, Tina dressed as a tropical clown and maintenance man, Mark dressed as a cricketer.
The clients loved the event, laughing, clapping and dancing throughout the afternoon.
Jocelyn hopes to organise another fashion parade in a fortnight’s time for the Savoy community at Arcare Malvern East.
Arcare Malvern East – Uplift
The collected bras will be donated to women living in third world countries, who previously would not have had access to or be able to afford bras.
Since starting the collection, Tina and the team have collected just over 100 bras and undergarments. Donations have come from within the Arcare community and from the wider community (including a Retirement Village in Glen Waverley).

The lifestyle team have been keeping the clients busy, entertained, stimulated, connected and happy at Arcare Nirvana during this precautionary lockdown period – just see for yourself!
Arcare Point Lonsdale – Yoga
The Arcare Point Lonsdale community a wide variety of lifestyle activities to keep their clients busy, stimulated, entertained, fit and healthy.
On Thursday 30th April, Arcare Point Lonsdale’s lifestyle coordinator, Sara ran a seated yoga class for the community to participate in.
The gentle exercises and slow movements were incredibly relaxing and soothing, with many clients already requesting to run more classes in the future.
