July at Arcare Caulfield
The Arcare Caulfield community had a busy month with all their July was a busy month for activities at Arcare Caulfield.
A highlight of the month, was celebrating Marie Prince’s 104th birthday with a performance from world-famous pianist, Alan Kogosowski. To read more on that story: https://bit.ly/2XHAhOU
Here are a couple of highlights from the month:
Sons of Mary
Caulfield clients enjoyed the ambience of the open fire at local cafe, Sons of Mary. Clinging onto the the warmth of their hot coffees, clients enjoyed their cakes, company and most importantly, being out of the cold Melbourne weather.
Yani & Vincent
Vincent and Yani are volunteers at Arcare Caulfield. In July, the pair came in to play piano and the theremin for the clients. The Theremin is a rather peculiar instrument, using physical contact and movement to create sound.
Clients, Gunner and Robin thought they would give playing the theremin a go. Whilst Robin and Gunner where having lots of laughs learning how to play, the other clients were laughing and begging them to stop, telling them to “Leave it to the professionals!”
