While Wendy might be a resident at Arcare Maidstone, the lifestyle team aren’t quite sure how they would cope without her help.
A younger resident at Arcare Maidstone, Wendy originally moved into the Sensitive (dementia) Care Community due to early onset dementia. However, she thrived in the environment and was able to move out into the general Community.
Not used to sitting still, Wendy always offers a helping hand (or two) to the lifestyle team. As a result of this, Wendy is in charge of the newspaper group, where she reads out each and every article to those with bad eyesight. She also runs the quizzes and calls out the bingo numbers – and that’s all before lunch.
When she’s not busy running activities, Wendy enjoys going on bus outings, where she writes detailed descriptions of her trips. Once she returns home, she then types them up for safe keeping. We’re hoping she’ll soon become a regular contributor to FIVE STARS, so keep an eye out for her byline.
