Congratulations to Jack, from Arcare Carnegie, whose watercolour painting, ‘Old Cottages At Riddell’, was displayed in an exhibition in Glen Eira.
‘A few years ago I was driving through a small place called Riddell’s Creek near Macedon,’ Jack said. ‘I noticed these derelict cottages by the roadside so I stopped and did a fairly detailed pencil sketch and made a few notes about colour. I put the sketch into a folio and forgot about it.’
After trawling through his folio again last year, he pulled out that very same sketch again.
‘Watercolour is not easy but when it turns out well it is very satisfying. I have a folio full of watercolour disasters which reminds me that at 92 I am still a leaner!’
The team from Arcare Carnegie embraced St Patrick’s Day in March, dressing in bright green from head to toe. Literally!
Clients also got into the spirit and enjoyed Baileys, Guiness, Irish stew and green cupcakes.
