Julie Wentworth stepped up to the plate when Arcare Malvern East’s regular yoga instructor couldn’t attend a session one week.
A qualified and experienced Yoga teacher, Julie commenced her studies in Zurich after her own personal healing that followed from having cancer. She has a deep understanding of the adversity that people may face in their lives and the journey that has to be lived through.
Julie’s studies, passion and skills in teaching Yoga and Attitudinal Healing have taken her to India and the United States. As well as this Julie travelled to Greece, where a Yoga centre sought her help in teaching Yoga to people living with HIV/AIDS, as well as Sri Lanka and South Africa, where she worked with AIDS orphans and drug and alcohol rehabilitation patients.
Julie has also published a book ‘Love and Light’ which is found in twenty three countries, and in twenty six libraries in Melbourne and Victoria, including the National and State libraries.
In addition to all of this, along with four friends, Julie created a yoga DVD that raised over $14,000 for the Matron at St. Francis Care Centre Johannesburg to go towards dedicated and qualified nursing staff.
Julie has also been initiated into Karma Sannyasa at the Satyananda Yoga ashram, Rocklyn, during the visit of Paramahamsa Niranjanananda. Her Sannyasa name is Sannyasi Chin Maya.
Yoga, Stress Relaxation and Meditation mean life to Julie – to maintain health, energy and a calmness.
During her sessions at Arcare Malvern East, Julie promotes taking the responsibility for your body, mind and the inner you, and the importance of taking time and giving time to heal, restore, repair, recharge and re-energise.
