Who says that as you grow older, you stop enjoying a good party, music and dancing? Well for the clients at our 5-star aged care community, Arcare Parkview in Malvern East, they continue to enjoy just that.
Clients enjoy bopping, stretching, grooving and moving to the music at their silent disco.
A silent disco involves the participants wearing wireless headphones to personally listen to music.
Although they listened to the music on their own, that doesn’t mean that they partied on their own. The silent disco instructor spoke to them through their headphones, guiding them through the reminiscing session and physical activity.
The clients enjoyed dancing to the music, with a few even singing along.
Silent discos are an excellent way to engage clients in physical exercise and music appreciation, without the loud, distracting music of a regular dance party, which often a deterrent for some.
