Arcare Kanwal take a trip back in time

On the first Monday of August the Men’s club at Arcare Kanwal took a trip to the local historical museum.

The men were eager to visit as the museum had a new exhibit on ‘Take a trip back in time’ which had them all intrigued.

The group took their time wandering around the museum together looking at memorabilia photos of the old town and how it once looked. There was also photos of old machinery, tools and equipment all relating back to early settlers of Wyong and surrounding suburbs.

As they walked around the men reminisced about the different items or images on display.

‘I remembered my father worked on the Newcastle Railway Station and they called the train the Newcastle Flyer when I was a child’ resident Paul Arkley told the group.

As it neared lunch time the room was filled with the sounds and smells of a sausage sizzle which had everyone’s bellies rumbling. Lunch was served and enjoyed by all! The men were even treated to a slice of pavlova which sent them home raving to everyone how good their day was.
