Beer, wine and corgis at Arcare Slacks Creek

Clients at Arcare Slacks Creek celebrated certain calendar events with beer and wine tasting, along with a surprise visits from corgis.

In Australia, the national days for beer, white wine and red wine all fall in the month of August.

The Lifestyle Team at Arcare Slacks Creek decided to combine all three events into one and what better way to celebrate the end of the lockdown restrictions than with some beer and wine tasting.

The Lifestyle team purchased a wide variety of wine, beer and cider as well as cheese, dips and other bits to nibble on.

With their trolleys loaded with the drinks and nibbles, the Lifestyle Team took the tasting on tour around each community.

Some clients were eager to try the different brands of wine they knew and loved while other clients were feeling more adventurous and tried the new and trendy craft beers.

Client Tom tasted a number of wines and beers, sharing with us that his favourite was the craft coconut stout.

‘I’ve never liked stout, but that’s absolutely beautiful!’ he said.

The Slacks Creek community was also lucky to have Michelle Dounan, Arcare Seven Hills’ Lifestyle Co-ordinator, onsite this week.

And Michelle brought her gorgeous corgis named Phoebe and Ebby in for a visit.

Clients loved patting their wonderfully fluffy coats and had lots of questions about ‘the dogs of the Queen herself’, as one client called them.

We certainly hope to see Phoebe, Ebby and Michelle again for another visit!
