Valentine’s Day Lunch

To celebrate Valentine’s Day at Arcare Taigum, an invitation was sent out to the couples in the building to invite them to a romantic Valentine’s Day Lunch.

The theatre and private dining room were rearranged and decorated for the romantic event. The Lifestyle team decorated each venue to add ambiance to the event.

Client arrived at lunchtime and were seated by staff, where they each received a menu to peruse. Staff then waited on the couples as if they were in a proper restaurant.

The residents enjoyed a seafood cocktail, followed by salmon or beef and finished their meal with chocolate mousse and strawberries.

Clients were offered a glass of bubbly as well. All the couples who attended said it was a very lovely event and they felt very special to be able to attend. They also said the food was delicious.

During the meal, clients reminisced about their lives and how they met. Phyllis and Kevin Fish recalled how strict Phyllis’s dad was when they were dating and how he instructed Kevin to have his daughter back home by 10pm.

Towards the end of the lunch, clients were given heart shaped chocolates and a Valentine’s Day wish.
